Having hosted hundred of events, we've seen our fair share of baby showers. They have all been just adorable, but we have to brag a bit on the safari-themed shower that took place this past weekend.
You guys...It. Was. Fabulous!
We think we've discovered a new design trend, and we're calling it safari chic. Miesha Jones over at Love Jones Designs left no detail unfinished. The safari-theme was carried out not only through the decor, but also beverages, sweets, and even a kids' space!
Fun fact about Ms. Miesha--she specializes in kids' parties and milestone celebrations. As we chatted prior to the guests arriving at the shower, she was showing me photos of an over-the-top "shark attack" party she had done the prior weekend. If you've got a celebration coming up for your little one, you've got to get Miesha on it!
The scene was set from the moment guests arrived. The first-floor elevator lobby welcomed guests with an oversized stuffed zebra and a sign directing guests to the fourth floor. As guests stepped off the elevator and into Rooftop Event Spot, another welcome sign and large "B," hand-wrapped with twine, continued the safari look. Guests dropped of gifts and books to stock Baby Briggs's nursery library. Our over-sized vintage rolling table and partition was the perfect accompanyment for the safari decor!
In a word, the cake table was stunning. The gold, HAND-MADE, paper backdrop added the perfect amount of chic to the event and trely complimented the elements decorating the space. Soonja's Bakery provided a two-tier cake that looked too good to eat...well, almost.
Urban Crust provided a delicious lunch buffet of pizza and salad for the party, and guests really enjoyed Urban Rio's "Jungle Cooler" punch though a real bamboo or printed, paper straws!
Guests loved noshing on the sweet treats while mingling with the mother-to-be. A separate snack bar was set up in the middle of the room complete with gourmet popcorn and macarons. As if enjoying these snacks wasn't great enough, each guest also got to take home their own jar of popcorn as a favor!
We think one of the coolest parts about this shower was the separate play space that was available for the children attending the event. "Camp Kade" (named after the big-brother-to-be) had everything a kid could want to help pass the time at the shower. Our in-house AV system played a movie on the TV screen outside, and the kids played with tons of toys and balloons. Best part? A full-sized camping tent! The kids loved it and it was the perfect option to allow the adults to enjoy celebrating The Briggs's new baby.
We have fallen in love with the natural, chic look of this baby shower, and think we're on to something with Love Jones Designs! Here's a couple of other shots just showing how adorable the decor was!
Special thanks, as always, to all of the vendors who helped make this shower a successful event.
